On Oshima, a small island in the Seto Inland Sea, there is only one well.
Born from the people's earnest desire to cherish it, a guardian deity came to dwell in this well.
To this day, that guardian spirit protects not just the well, but the entire island of Oshima.



When I actually went there and conducted research, I found a way of life that coexists with nature.
I think it's so… bold.

I mean, although she had a hard work of growing the passion fruit for one year,
she chose the expressions of creating fiction stories to tell us about the Hachijojima island instead of expressing how hard she worked.

There can be circular waves or ways of making artworks that also benefit the land, the sea, the stars and everything in between.
I remember someone was saying that museums don’t exist until there's some kind of visitor or observer existing.

So we could basically say that space and nature also are like museums because we can become observers.

The Whole universe is a museum for us.

I thought art is made by artist.


But after listening to her story, I feel maybe art is not only making something.

She moved, met people, and found stories.
